Corporate social responsibility

The way we operate

We are committed to achieving high standards of corporate governance, business integrity and professionalism in all our activities.

As successful private equity investors, we seek to comply with the laws, regulations and rules applicable to our business and to conduct our activities in accordance with established best practice in each of the countries in which we operate. Environmental, ethical and social responsibility issues and standards are also taken into consideration in every aspect of our business and are embedded into the corporate culture.

While the requirements of each country within which we operate are different, our objectives for managing our people are constant. We want to attract the best people, enable them to give their best and secure their continued commitment.

The investment process

Our investment process takes into account the fact that a wide range of factors can affect the sustainability of a business and, consequently, the financial returns from an investment in any given company. As part of our due diligence into the businesses that we become major shareholders in, we incorporate a review of the corporate, environmental, social and ethical stance of those businesses.

Community

Our employees are encouraged to support the wider community and to give time and money to charitable causes. Such involvement is not only of benefit to the community, but also a valuable means of increasing employee awareness and assisting in their development. Currently our charitable giving policy is focused on AFTAID, a small charity local to our offices in London.

As a team we took the decision to allocate our time and resources to a charity within which we could make a constructive difference. AFTAID, Aid For The Aged In Distress aims to alleviate the plight of frail elderly people in financial stress throughout the United Kingdom. It is called upon often as a last resort, to help where others cannot or will not.

AID FOR THE AGED IN DISTRESS concentrates its efforts and resources directly to elderly people in the U.K. who, because of ineligibility or, who are only receiving partial funding through statutory or voluntary services, fall through the 'safety net'. When need is genuine, they try never to let them down.
