Finnish Chemicals is one of the world’s largest producers of sodium chlorate. The company has three manufacturing plants in Finland and two in south-east USA. Sodium chlorate is one of the main pulp bleaching chemicals used in the pulp and paper industry. The company produces chlorine dioxide at a plant in Kuusankosi, Finland and in addition produces chloralkali products at Joutseno, Finland and a sodium borohydride at Aetsä, Finland. Finnish Chemicals also operates the largest caustic soda distribution business in Finland.
Divestment
We completed the €345 million divestment of Finnish Chemicals OY to Kemira Oyj in 2005.
